Helping Children Cope with Loss

The Grief Recovery Method

Teach Your Children Well

This program provides instruction for adult parents and caregivers to teach their children how to cope with death or any of life's losses. There are several myths to dispel regarding how we grieve. Examples include Don't be sad (why not?), replace the loss, grieve alone, stay busy, etc. While these behaviors may temporarily relieve the parents, they don't help the child or teen learn how to express their feelings.

You need the skills to navigate your child's questions and beliefs about death and loss. This is the only class that couples can attend together. We meet individually via Zoom calls and ask that you attend via tablet or PC, as a phone doesn't allow for enough direct communication. Your children look to you for guidance on how to behave during grieving. Let's give them the skills they need.

Time does not heal all wounds; you need more.
